SkinPen Microneedling
Skinpen, or Microneedling, is a treatment that is beneficial to skin that has acne or wound scarring, hyperpigmentation due to healed lesions, sun damage and aging skin. It is a more intensive treatment that will effectively re-texturize the skin, minimize pores, even out skin tone, and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Post – treatment appearance will be that of a sun burn due to the nature of the treatment. Micro channels are created during this treatment in order to facilitate the collagen and elastin production. Therefore, you must wait 24 hours before applying anything to the face; after that time, makeup should easily cover any residual redness. Some redness may be evident for up to 3 days, results may vary.
As the skin heals, mild flaking may occur. One will reach the fullest benefit of the treatment at 2 weeks; skin will be soft, more plump, and have a healthy glow. Depending on the desired result, it is recommended to treat every 4 weeks in a series of three treatments. Results can continue to improve for up to 6 months after the treatment.
